Our Story
Two boutique owners. Two states. The exact same problem. And finally — one solution.
Created by two female small business owners who got tired of waiting for someone else to fix it
If you've ever closed your shop for the night and then spent two more hours on your laptop — copying customer info between apps, scheduling posts you forgot about, chasing down a vendor payout — you already know why Boutiqly exists.
Katy Sensenig Schilthuis built Mosaic Makers Collective, a boutique and consignment shop with two locations in Texas. Ashley Collett built Salt & Honey Market, a thriving boutique and seasonal pop-up marketplace with three locations around Salt Lake City, Utah. Both started as artisans. Both grew into retail owners. And both spent years stitching together a patchwork of software tools — paying for five different platforms that each did one thing, none of which talked to each other.
The CRM didn't connect to the email tool. The email tool didn't know about the vendor payouts. The vendor payouts lived in a spreadsheet. The spreadsheet lived in a panic. They weren't running their businesses — they were managing their software.
In 2023, Katy wandered into Salt & Honey Market on a trip to Salt Lake City. Within minutes, she and Ashley were finishing each other's sentences about the exact same frustrations. By 2024, when Katy pitched her idea for a better solution, Ashley pulled out her own nearly identical business plan. It wasn't a coincidence — it was confirmation that this problem was bigger than just the two of them.
So they built Boutiqly. Not as tech founders chasing a market opportunity — but as shop owners who were done waiting for someone else to build the tool they actually needed. Boutiqly doesn't replace your POS or your accounting software. It handles everything else: your customers, your marketing, your vendors, your staff, your reputation, your automations — all in one place, finally.
What started as a solution for their own shops became something too useful to keep to themselves. If you're a boutique owner who's tired of the chaos, this was built for you.

Two boutique owners who built the software they always wished existed.
Co-Founder of Boutiqly | Founder of Mosaic Makers Collective
Katy Sensenig Schilthuis is an artisan-turned-boutique-owner with a passion for helping makers thrive. She founded Mosaic Makers Collective in Dallas, Texas, as a space where female artisans could showcase their work, grow their businesses, and support each other in the journey of entrepreneurship.
With years of experience navigating the boutique and consignment world, Katy understands the challenges that come with managing a retail shop. Her leadership style is warm, collaborative, and deeply rooted in community over competition. She thrives on celebrating the successes of her makers — whether it's paying off debt, launching a new product, or opening a storefront of their own.
Outside of work, Katy enjoys spending time with her husband and their cats, belting out Broadway show tunes (she knows most lyrics by heart!), and sipping on a peppermint mocha during the winter months.

Co-Founder of Boutiqly | Founder of Salt & Honey Market
Ashley Collett is a designer, entrepreneur, and creative advocate who founded Salt & Honey Market as a way to support fellow artisans and small business owners. She saw a need for a dedicated space where local makers could sell their work beyond occasional pop-up markets, so she took the leap and built a boutique that would empower independent creatives year-round.
With a background in illustration, design, and product development, Ashley brings a sharp eye for curation and a deep understanding of what customers want. Her experience designing for national retailers like Target and Michaels gave her valuable insight into product trends, merchandising, and the importance of storytelling in retail.
Ashley is passionate about helping small retailers grow, knowing firsthand the challenges and joys of entrepreneurship. Outside of work, she enjoys painting, working on various creative projects, skiing and exploring local coffee shops.
"To save time, cut costs, and give shop owners the freedom to focus on what they love most — growing their business and supporting their community."
We built Boutiqly because we lived the problem. Every feature, every workflow, every decision is made with one question in mind: does this make life easier for a boutique owner?
